If you really want to create an excitement and capture your guest’s attention, “leak” bridal portraits or engagement photos. The main idea is that social media affords you opportunities to stand out and is very budget friendly.

           The saying goes, “Pictures are worth a thousand words” and it could not be more true when it comes to describing someone’s wedding day. It’s not just the couple being described, but their surroundings as well; The where is just as important as the who. With that in mind, it becomes a driving force in the development of any venue. You want the space you provide to be captured in the best light and talked about for generations to come. For us, we wanted this space to say you matter. Any bride should be able to have a beautiful wedding without all the compromise. While the vision was simple, the production has been quite a process! Here’s what the journey looks like so far.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           While every detail is important, the most important was finding the perfect spot for the ceremony site. With many acres to cover, this meant walks through the woods with machetes in hand, searching for that awe-inspiring backdrop. Paying attention to the placement of the trees, where a bride might enter in from, is there enough shade, or too much shade. These are meaningful questions if you want to offer the opportunity for great photos. Both lighting and placement are key to getting the shot. Once the right spot presented itself, it was really time to go to work! 
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

           It's no secret that Redwicks is in the woods, and finding the balance of keeping it that way, while still maintaining elegance is no easy task. The right trees had to be cleared for the ceremony area, walk-ways, and even parking. Months of machines paved the way for progress. From there the right material needed to be put down for the different purposes. For the ceremony area, cedar mulch and sand were brought in which help keep the presence of bugs away and makes for a beautiful and natural aisle. There’s no jumping over tree branches or stumbling over debris, just a smooth transition from one place to the next. 
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Keeping with the cedar, benches were built to hold up to 250 guests. Bench style seating is great for several reasons. You can accommodate many guests this way, which gives the couple more for the price. Benches also mean less set up time for the staff, which allows them to prep other things rather than setting up chairs. In a natural space, chairs could take away from this element, bringing in that commercial element. Again, the goal is to strike a balance. New Paragraph

           Electrical and lighting are two other key features that required a lot of preparation. You want the capability of having speakers and other items that need to be powered up, while not losing the allure of the woods. Dropping the lines underground gave us the opportunity to have both. When it comes to the lights, its one of Redwicks greatest surprises. Cascading lights have been intentionally drawn up over 80 ft above to provide that romantic ambiance while avoiding becoming a distraction. Additional down-lighting makes it bright enough for any gathering. 
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;

           There’s so much more to be desired and the property is full of surprises! From bridges to bathrooms, you can expect comfort in unlikely places. Outdoor ceremonies can also run less than the indoor sights and hold a larger gathering! Due to the summer not being the most popular season, you may also find a discount in booking.

           Outside of seasonal benefits, summer is a great time to take things waterside. Rather than a traditional reception, consider having a large pool party, or enjoying dinner and dancing lakeside. There’s something about being in or around water that immediately creates a more laid-back environment. This is great for when the evening starts to get too hectic. For an even more relaxed atmosphere, take things to the beach. Many beach houses can hold a large party and have access to a semiprivate beach area. Picture a beautiful sunset as you and your husband or wife walk alongside the water line soaking up the newly wed bliss.

You can book an elopement package and have travel plans all on the same day. Your friends and family will be right where you left them to celebrate in other ways or later.

           We can still hear the laughter ringing in the air as brides and their besties shuffled around to visit each booth. It was a full day of fun, with so many great moments. Much preparation goes into these events, it can leave you wondering, is it worth it? We are here to spill the tea and talk the good, bad, and ugly.

           Preparation began weeks before, choosing the right giveaways, décor, down to what kind of signage should we have. Although it was hours of work, it paid off greatly when it came to set up and tear down. Whether you have minimal or maximum décor, the key word is organized. With all the items having their own designated bin or box, set up and tear down were both seamless and gave extra time to network. This goes for brides as well.            Here's the tea, this type of event is an investment. On both the bride and the vendor side there is a fee to participate. If you are like us, we want to know what is it I’m buying? What we found is that brides enter in with free swag including cute bride identifiers, bags, and many other little takeaways. Additionally, much of the leg work is done for you in gathering vendors of all kinds for you to interview. They come with examples, discounts, and ready to answer all your burning questions. 
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           No need for a photographer? That’s okay you move on to the next booth. You will come across booths you didn’t even know you wanted to visit! Often, we tend to follow trends, here there are vendors that suit your personal style and design, from the way florals are presented, to the potential for a drone air show instead of fireworks. The sky is the limit! In need of some pre-wedding pampering, from hair removal and lashes to a complete spa package, you have all access to businesses from all over. If you are a vendor, this is great news because it means networking! A key to this industry is relationship. You get to know the couples and their families, but you also get to know the people you may be working with. This makes for a seamless and enjoyable experience for all those involved. 
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Let’s talk timing. While vendors must be there earlier to set up, entrance for attendees is typically midmorning and the event runs the span of the day. This is helpful for the early risers, those with kids, or even those that get a late start. Because the event runs for several hours, if you are not there on opening time, you still can leisurely walk around. What we found is that people came in waves. There would be short breaks in between crowds which meant we were able to share details and information with more than one couple. Not to mention, when a place is poppin’ you want to know what the buzz is about; there’s nothing worse than dead energy. Protip: if you get there early, you will get all the fresh goodies and food samples! The cake and catering samples go quick. 
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

           These are just a few basics of events like these and here’s a recap: preparation goes a long way; plan out what you are looking for, what vendors you need vs. ones you have already booked.

           We’re back with some additional tips for brides in the planning process. The details surrounding the ceremony often get overlooked, unless there are a lot of traditional

          rules to follow. While we don’t have a rule book for a textbook ceremony, we do have some fun and creative ideas to spice up this part of your wedding day. First things first, your vows are the single most important part of the ceremony and should not be overshadowed trying to outdo other weddings.  Keep the main thing, the main thing and have fun with other details!
         &#xD;

  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           You may have seen a trend of sparklers for grand exit time after the reception. Talk about some amazing nighttime shots! Grand exits though not necessary, are a super fun way to end the day. To shake things up, consider having a grand exit from your ceremony. Prepare each guest, or row of guests with the item of choice; with instructions included. Why just settle for a little kiss on the way out when you can have the whole shebang right there?! This frees you up to enjoy your evening without a looming task at the end. It also allows guests to leave the festivities whenever they need to, without feeling like they are missing any special moments. 
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           There’s a wise saying that talks about putting yourself in someone else’s shoes, all in the name of gaining perspective. What if you were to take this thought and put it into action for your wedding. It’s expected to watch the bride come down the aisle where they are joined with their fiancé before the officiant. While this beautiful moment can bring a tear to your eye, as a guest it can also leave you disappointed. With backs turned, and possibly a seat in the back, your vision can be heavily impaired. Instead, once everyone has come down the aisle, try positioning the officiant on the side of the guests, so the bride and groom end up facing them. This way everyone has a shot a seeing the love story unfold. 
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;

           Speaking of being the center of attention, another edgy move might be to host the ceremony in the center of your guests. You might be wondering, how is this done? Chairs would be strategically placed creating four quadrants or corners. Be sure to curve them so you are left with an overall circular shape, leaving the center open enough for the bride and groom. Leave space between the quadrants or corners for an isle to walk down. A big benefit to this is any large party will feel intimate. Your guests would also get a 360-degree view of you two. This means some amazing and unique shots for your photographer and videographer. 
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           We have all seen the photography fails of guests blocking, standing, and having their phones out. There’s nothing more frustrating than having a professional there who can get those important shots you are wanting! Have even more fun with the ceremony and have your officiant announce a time when guests can have their phones out for photos. Make it a fun a light-hearted announcement, doing a little acting if you must get those “candid” shots. Time it for around 60 seconds before returning to regular scheduled programming, at which time the phones must disappear. Again, this focus’ on guest inclusivity, and satisfies that need to snap a picture. Then everyone is free to focus on the important parts of the day without distraction. 
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;

           If you are feeling playful, or maybe the groom has a ton of guy friends or family members in his life, make them like flower girls. No dress is necessary! They can grab a fanny pack and get some flower petals and strut down the aisle. Not only will it give everyone a good laugh, but most guests also won’t see it coming!

           Many couples jump to find the venue, brides are already looking at dresses, but one of the most important details to iron out is the budget! That’s right it’s time to talk about the ‘m’ word. You may think you have your spending on lock, but it’s been reported that almost half of the couples that got married in 2021 reported overspending by around $6,000 dollars.* That’s not pocket change if you are planning to start a life together. You want to take some time, look over the money situation and set a max amount you want to spend. If you really want a better picture you can divvy out the cash for the priority details of your wedding day. Once you have your foundation, you may find the matching watches you wanted to spoil your bridal party with, aren’t the best idea.

  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;

           Now that these to items are covered, you’ll want to do a little research and really decide what matters to you. Details are important, but which ones is up to you and your fiancé. The web is full of ideas and do’s and dont’s, but ultimately you decide what is a must and what can be left out. Think of that analogy of filling a jar up. First with the big rocks, what are the most important details. Maybe it’s location, type of ceremony, theme, or getting all of the out of town family there. Then you move on to the medium size stones; will you have this décor or can you swap it out, what dress, what tux’s or outfit for the groom and his groomsmen. Lastly all the small sandy details at the top. What are the cake flavors, what music do you want, what kind of speeches or toasts. Each of these plays it’s roll, and out of order it wont fit. Remember start with the most important, and then work your way backwards. Know that there are endless ways to have a wedding, so whatever you decide on is the right way!

While the traditional route emphasizes sharing this day with the friends and family you love, a marriage is really about the commitment between the two of you. Those same friends and family will be there to support you both on your journey. Just thinking about eloping adds a sense of adventure. Who doesn’t love a great surprise?! Save the money for an epic honeymoon or invest it into building your legacy.

           As I stare out at the snow-covered Colorado landscape, with peak temperatures reaching 30 for the day, I’m reminded of the mild sunny Texas we left behind. The trees shuttering in the cool breeze, majestic shades of red and yellow, and the sunshine drawing you to the outdoors. The possibilities of what you can do, endless. Some choose to get their lawns in order, while others enjoy a walk around the park, or even catch a game of soccer. In this weather, I can’t help but think, “what a perfect opportunity for a wedding!” While the summers can be described as hot and humid, Texas in the winter, is a category of its own. The features described are just a few of the reasons why you shouldn’t delay and book your wedding. 
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           An outdoor ceremony at this time means you can go as simple or as extravagant on décor as your budget allows. Imagine a minimal backdrop with florals or draping, or even just the two of you surrounded by candles all aglow. While one might think, that sounds so simple, the décor is complimentary to the scenery all around. What you can’t capture in a photograph, are the sounds of nature you can enjoy at this time. The cicadas have retired their noisy calls, but the Kiskadee or Warbler are two notable songs you might hear floating amongst the woods. 
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;

           Speaking of photography, no longer is it a race to take your wedding photos before everyone is perspiring and the makeup is running. The mild temperatures mean you can take your time to get those shots you’ve been dreaming of. Consider moving the family shots outside, where there is plenty of room to stretch out. Another plus to the season is the sun setting earlier in the day. This means the right amount of shade for your photographer and avoiding those overexposed pictures. Enjoy the liberty to take your time and embrace every moment of your special day.

           I leave you with a final thought. Peak season runs from May to October; if you have tried booking somewhere, you may have noticed two things. The prices during the season run thousands higher, and it is extremely challenging to find the date you were looking for. If you have had to compromise on either or both accounts, you should consider off season. Most people are traveling already during this time for family parties and traditions. Why not take advantage and carry the magic of Christmas into your wedding day?!
